Areej M. Adel ElSayary is a Curriculum Advisor in Al Ittihad Private School, Jumeira, Dubai with full responsibility for curriculum and developing interdisciplinary framework of teaching STEAM. She received her Bsc. In Architecture Engineering from Alexandria University, Egypt.

After a four-year career as an engineer, she decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved to sunny Dubai, where she was offered a teaching position. She earned a MED (Science Stream with specialization in STEM) from the British University in Dubai BUID. She started her Phd. In Education (Transdisciplinary and Assessment) in the British University in Dubai.

She has co-authored a chapter in the “The Routledge International Handbook of Research on Teaching Thinking”. The chapter was named “STEM Education and Problem-based Learning”, the chapter was discussing the best strategies of teaching STEM and its impact on students’ learning. She shared in many conferences where she conducted variety of workshops. The latest contribution was the 3rd BUID Doctoral Research Conference 2017 where she presents a research about how STEM curriculum is viewed as innovative curriculum.

Her qualifications allow her to start an effective STEM program in her school since September 2014 where students were able to create innovative projects that are awarded every year and published in the news. In addition, her interdisciplinary framework has been appreciated by KHDA and used as a case study.
